This reed-warbler lives on four Marquesan islands. The sexes look alike, and singing males defend territories.
Males and females look alike. The bird has olive-yellow upperparts, yellow underparts, and a brown erectile crown tipped with yellow; it cannot be separated by appearance from the other Marquesan reed-warbler.
It uses gardens, wooded areas, dry places, and upland zones. Its recorded food includes insects and lizards, and sometimes plant matter or ripe fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
