Andrew's Bunomys is a medium-sized rodent of forests on Sulawesi. It has a broad head and stocky build, with a dark brown back and grayish-white underside.
It is stocky and broad-headed. Its back is dark brown to brownish gray, speckled with buff and black, while the underside is grayish white and the digits are white.
It lives in lowland tropical evergreen and lower montane forest, and also in secondary forest or scrub near intact forest, up to about 1,400 m.
