Podogymnura intermedia is a gymnure known from mountain sites in eastern Mindanao, Philippines. Long black hairs and golden-tipped hairs give its back golden streaks or speckles.
The dorsal coat has long black hairs mixed with hairs tipped in golden yellow. The belly fur is shorter and paler, without the golden pattern seen on the back.
Survey traps caught it mainly on the ground at night. Stomachs from a small number of specimens contained arthropods, earthworms and small land snails; the authors infer ground foraging for leaf-litter invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
