The Kuban tur is a wild goat of the western Caucasus. Above the forest belt, it uses alpine meadows and rocky slopes.
Both sexes have large curved horns; males also have a beard beneath the chin.
It rests during the hottest hours in summer and feeds in the morning and evening. In winter, it also eats leaves from trees and shrubs.
