The Black Rail is a very small, dark rail of North American wetlands. White speckles mark its plumage, and dense grasses make it difficult to see.
It is tiny and dark, with white speckles on the back and sides.
It hides in dense vegetation in shallow marshes and searches for small invertebrates such as insects. Calls may be heard on spring nights.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
