This shrimp is known from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
In the females examined from southern Thailand, the rostrum is relatively narrow and curves slightly downwards.
In southern Thailand, it inhabits lowland rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, reservoirs and brackish water, living on aquatic vegetation along the banks.
In the observed living specimens, the body is translucent with brown stripes and dark spots.
In the females examined from southern Thailand, the back edge of the telson is rounded without a central projection.
