The Green Aracari lives in humid lowland forests of South America. Its large-looking bill is light, and the bird helps spread seeds when it eats fruit.
The bill looks large, but air pockets inside make it much lighter than it appears. Serrated edges help it grasp and open fruit.
It eats mainly fruit, often swallowing it whole and carrying seeds away from the parent tree. It makes short flights through the canopy, hops along branches, and is usually seen in small flocks or family groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
