Allen's woodrat is a woodrat of western and central Mexico. Its back is reddish to dusky brown, its underside is pale, and calls have been heard at sundown.
It has a long, narrow head, reddish- to dusky-brown upperparts, and white to buff underparts. Its tail is sparsely haired and ranges from dusky to white.
Nests appear to be placed at tree bases or under other cover. Calls have been heard at sundown as a series of short notes, and it has been found eating seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
