A woodcreeper of northern South American forests. Pale streaks on its dark crown contrast with its chestnut rump, wings and tail.
The black crown is streaked buff; the rufous upper back has teardrop-shaped streaks, the rump, wings and tail are chestnut, and the long straight bill is black.
At the central Amazon study site, it used the forest midstory and joined mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
