The Central Texas Pocket Gopher is a rodent that tunnels through Texas grasslands and even lawns. It carries plant food in cheek pouches and stores it underground.
Its back and face mix light and dark brown hairs, while the belly and feet are creamy white. The coat darkens in winter, when the underside becomes pale gray.
It spends most of its time in underground tunnels and may collect plants at the surface to store below ground. Its diet includes roots, tubers, stems, seeds, and grains.
Each upper incisor has two grooves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
