Preuss's monkey is a forest primate marked by a silvery-white neck collar and reddish-brown back. It is active by day and forages for fruit and young shoots in groups.
A collar of silvery-white fur grows at the base of the neck, framing a dark gray face. Most of the body is black, while the back is reddish brown.
It is active by day and also uses the ground, but feeds on fruit and young shoots in the forest understory. It usually lives in groups with several females and young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
