The Persian trident bat occurs in coastal parts of the Middle East and in Kenya’s Rift Valley. Its noseleaf has three projections, and it hunts insects from dusk in the Middle East.
Its noseleaf is narrow and does not cover the whole muzzle. A central projection and two lateral projections create a three-pronged outline.
It spends the day in dry-country roosts and flies out around dusk and after dark to catch insects. Clay cavities and cracks in date palms have been reported as possible roosts.
