The Brazilian arboreal mouse was redescribed in a 2004 rediscovery paper based on two specimens. Its lifestyle in that paper includes inferences from morphology rather than direct observations.
The first hind-foot digit is greatly reduced and ends in a nail rather than a claw. The redescription also reports diagonally arranged tooth cusps.
From the foot and tooth form, the authors suggest possible arboreal habits and insectivory. They also emphasize that natural-history observations are scarce.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
