This cuckooshrike occurs across islands of the southwest Pacific. A Niue regional guide describes it in vegetated habitats, where it searches leaves of trees and shrubs for insects.
The Niue guide describes grey-black upperparts with white wing patches and a narrow white tail tip, a black eye stripe, and white underparts.
On Niue it uses vegetated areas, including open places with isolated trees. It forages mainly among foliage for insects, especially caterpillars, and also eats small fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
