This green pigeon is native only to Sumba, where it eats fruit in forest canopies and along edges that retain large trees.
The original description reports a green, slightly greyish head and body, a yellow-green underside, and reddish-purple feathers on the rear mantle and shoulders.
In a field survey, birds were usually seen alone, in pairs, or in small groups. At one study site, 12 birds were observed feeding in adjacent fruit trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
