The Luzon Tryphomys is a rodent from Luzon. Its old type description records a sturdy body and coarse fur, but little is known about its life in the wild.
The type specimen was medium-sized and robust. Its back had coarse yellowish-brown and black hairs, the underside was pale grayish, and the tail was about as long as the trunk.
Field behavior and diet are largely unknown. A mammal classification account cited by ITIS suggests from its body form that it may be terrestrial and use open areas with grass or shrubs, but this is not a confirmed field observation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
