The Lesser Naked Bat occurs on islands of Indonesia and in the Philippines. It roosts in places such as tree hollows and feeds on insects.
The original description records an adult female as slightly smaller than the Greater Naked Bat, with proportionally smaller teeth.
The 2019 IUCN assessment describes it as insectivorous and often roosting in hollow trees. Philippine reports also mention coconut palms and occasional caves; on Sanana, one observation recorded it flying low near a stream mouth.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
