A small spiny mouse from the Guianan region. Specimens were collected near the forest floor; a short tail and short outer toes help distinguish it from related species.
Compared with close relatives, its outer toes are short and its tail is short with prominent scales.
It has been collected near ground level in well-drained forest, swampy primary forest, and secondary vegetation. The sources do not establish further details of its behavior or diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
