The western pygmy possum is a small marsupial with a white belly and large eyes. It moves through trees at night and rests in a leaf-lined nest by day.
Its back is fawn to reddish-brown, its underside is white, and its tail is naked with fine scales. Large eyes and long whiskers are also distinctive.
It is nocturnal and mainly arboreal. By day it rests in a leaf-lined nest in tree hollows or foliage. Nectar is a main food, though it may also eat insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
