The southern tree hyrax is a tree-dwelling mammal with soft grey-brown fur, found in forests across eastern and southern Africa.
Its body is covered in long, soft grey-brown fur that is paler underneath. White hairs fringe the ears, and it has no obvious external tail.
It feeds mainly on leaves, and also eats twigs, shoots, fruit and seeds. The kinds of plants it eats vary by region.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
