The Ocellated Antbird is an antbird of humid tropical-forest understory. Its blue bare facial skin is conspicuous; at a Panama study site it followed army-ant swarms to feed.
Bright blue bare skin surrounds the eye. The grayish head feathers contrast with the blue facial area.
On Barro Colorado Island, the study birds followed army-ant columns and caught arthropods flushed by the ants. The paper reports ten years of color-banding observations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
