A migratory warbler that stays hidden deep in shrubs while giving a short, powerful song.
The upperparts are olive-brown, with a greyish crown and a rufous rump. The underparts range from grey to buff, and the broad tail is spatula-shaped.
It walks through dense shrubs and usually flies only short distances. It builds a nest from dead leaves and grass close to damp ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
