Zeledon's Antbird inhabits humid forest from Nicaragua through Panama to western Colombia and western Ecuador. Males are black, females are brown, and the species forages low in the forest.
Males are mostly black, with dull blue bare skin around the red eye. Females are warm brown, darker on the face and throat, with a blackish tail.
It forages low in humid forest and sometimes follows army-ant swarms, but it does not depend on them.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
