A small warbler known only from St Lucia. BirdsCaribbean reported in 2016 that it had not been reliably confirmed for more than 50 years and was not detected during that year's field work. Its survival remained possible, but current presence was unconfirmed.
An 1886 bird account describes the male's upperparts as dark bluish grey, with a slight brownish tone on the lower back and rump. The throat and breast are greyish white, shading into brown on the belly.
A 2016 conservation article describes the bird as hopping along the floor of dense rainforest. The field team did not detect it during that year's search.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
