The Tumbala Climbing Rat has a gray back and white fur on its chin and chest. Few specimens are known, so much of its life in the wild remains poorly documented.
Its back is gray, with white fur from the chin across the chest and groin. The tail is dark, with white hairs at the tip showing through its scaly surface.
Known specimens are associated with forest where pine and oak trees grow. The account does not report what it eats or when it is active.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
