The Rosy Thrush-Tanager is a forest bird whose males have dark grey upperparts and rosy underparts. Female colors and facial markings vary among subspecies and regions.
Males are dark grey above with most of the underside rosy. In females the rosy color is replaced by orange-buff, cinnamon, or ochraceous tones depending on subspecies; the supercilium also varies regionally.
It skulks in forest undergrowth and searches the ground and leaf litter for food. Members of a pair may stay close together, but it does not follow mixed flocks.
It is 20 cm long.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
