The carapace reaches 4.3 mm in males and 4.9 mm in females. The sixth abdominal segment is about half the carapace length. The short projection at the front has 11–16 upper teeth and 1–3 lower teeth. A broad triangular part near the mouth ends in a finger-like tip. At collection site 4, the stream was 1–2 m wide and 0.5–1 m deep, with gravel, sand, and leaf litter on the bottom. Many shrimp were found among the leaf litter, where the water flowed at a moderate speed. It has been found in Wuzhishan City, Hainan Island.
