This slender bird lives in rainforests of eastern Madagascar. Its olive upperparts and bright yellow underparts stand out as it searches beneath leaves for insects.
It has an olive-green crown and upperparts, bright yellow underparts, a pale eye-ring and a light eyebrow. The sexes are described as similar.
In mid-altitude rainforest it gleans insects from the undersides of leaves and branches. It is often seen in small groups and may join mixed-species flocks.
