Rondon’s marmoset occurs only in the Brazilian state of Rondônia. It eats fruits and insects in forest and also uses plant exudates as food.
This population was once treated as part of the related Mico emiliae and described as having darker fur. It was later recognized as a separate species.
It eats fruits and insects. In a study near Porto Velho, plant exudates were used more during the wetter season and fruits more during the dry season. Mixed-species foraging groups were also observed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
