A snail reported from Qalimare on Viti Levu.
The dried shell of the single holotype is 3.45 mm high; its sex is unknown.
Palaina flammulata is a small land snail described from Viti Levu in Fiji. In 2015, Neubert and Bouchet named it from specimens collected at Qalimare karst, east of Natawatawadi. The type locality is dry forest at 40 m elevation; the material was collected on 21 August 1998.
Its shell is whitish to yellowish, with brown flame-like marks between the ribs. The holotype shell is 3.45 mm high. The authors listed Qalimare as the only known locality in their revision. Their survey recorded 1–13 Diplommatinidae species at each of 12 Viti Levu localities. They noted many unsurveyed islands and limestone areas and estimated that Fiji’s 42 known species might represent about half of the family’s fauna.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.

Their survey sampled 12 Viti Levu localities, each with 1–13 Diplommatinidae species; ten species were recorded at one locality. The authors noted many unsurveyed islands and limestone areas and estimated that Fiji’s 42 known species might represent about half of the family’s fauna.
