Abert’s Towhee lives year-round in brush along waterways in the Sonoran Desert. Its sandy body and rusty undertail help identify it.
Its body is sandy to gray-brown, with rusty color under the tail and a small dark patch at the base of the bill.
It stays in streamside brush, including mesquite and willow-cottonwood understory, throughout the year rather than migrating.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
