The Yellow-bellied Seedeater is a small bird identified by the male's pale yellow belly and black head. It feeds on grass seeds in grassy and agricultural areas.
The male has a pale yellow belly, black head and breast, olive-brown upperparts, and a bluish-grey bill. The female is brown with a paler underside and looks different from the male.
It uses grassland, shrubby clearings, and agricultural land. Grass seeds make up almost all its diet, and it may be seen in pairs or small flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
