The Colombian weasel is a small weasel recorded in the Andes of Colombia and Ecuador. Camera traps in a Colombian cloud forest recorded it during daylight.
The back and tail are blackish brown, while the underside is orange-buff. Webbing has been reported on the feet.
Camera surveys from September 2018 to April 2021 obtained three records at two cloud-forest localities in Colombia’s Mesenia-Paramillo Natural Reserve. The recorded times were 09:45, 11:23, and 12:53. These sites had low trees forming a closed canopy and deep leaf litter on the forest floor.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
