The Helmeted Manakin is a small manakin with different male and female plumage. A study in southeastern Brazil documented nests low in the forest undergrowth.
It is about 13–15 cm long, and adult males and females differ in plumage.
The study found 17 nests in forest undergrowth, usually below 3 m. The cup-shaped nest was attached at a forked branch, largely with spider silk.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
