This vole is recorded in China. Its back is dark brown to nearly black and its belly is gray. Wild individuals have been captured in farmland near Zhaotong, Yunnan.
The dorsal fur is dark brown to nearly black, the belly is slate gray, and the tail and feet are dark brown.
