The Yellow-headed Amazon is a green parrot found in Mexico and parts of Central America; the extent of yellow on the head varies by subspecies.
Adults are mainly green with yellow on the head or neck. In some subspecies, yellow is limited to the forehead and crown; in others it extends down the neck toward the breast.
It eats buds, new leaves, flowers, seeds and fruits. It may travel in pairs or flocks and gather at feeding areas and communal roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
