This rodent is known only from specimens collected in Daraa Governorate, southwestern Syria, in 1982. HMW places the records in a stony desert region.
The dorsal fur is brownish gray, with pale gray bases, ochre-yellow middles, and dark brown tips. The belly is white with a clear boundary from the back. The tail is uniformly colored, sparsely covered with short brown hairs, and ends in a well-developed tuft.
HMW identifies the known locality as a stony desert region in southwestern Syria. A 2026 paper reports no records beyond the specimens collected there in 1982 and no preserved ecological observations.
