This Sulawesi forest rat has a gray-brown back, a paler underside, and a long brush-tipped tail. Some were captured above the ground.
Its head and back are grayish brown, while the underside ranges from cream to ochraceous buff. Tail color varied among 20 specimens: five were brown throughout, 14 were brown above and paler below, and one had a white distal third.
The paper describes it as typically arboreal. In Central Sulawesi, Musser trapped 22 individuals using traps on trunks, understory trees, and large woody vines.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
