Argentina's biodiversity record describes a brown caracara marked by a white patch at the wing tips. It feeds mainly on carrion and searches for food in open places and along roads.
The back is a darker brown, while the rump, undertail and base of the tail are whitish. A white patch marks the wing tips; the cere and legs are gray.
The SIB account describes it as resident, usually solitary but sometimes in groups. Carrion is its main food, and it also searches for food in open country, along roads and on coasts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
