This bush warbler was described from central China. In southern Sichuan, it has been recorded in dense low herbs and ferns, forest clearings, sparse secondary forest, and tea plantations.
In breeding plumage, the back and flanks are grayish brown, while the throat and belly are pale gray to whitish. It is typically grayer and less russet than L. mandelli, but the plumage overlaps.
In southern Sichuan it was found in dense low herbs and ferns with scattered shrubs or trees, forest clearings, sparse secondary forest, and tea plantations. It creeps through cover and runs on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
