The Red-necked Amazon is a large green parrot with a purple-blue face and red throat. It is found only on Dominica, where it feeds on fruit and seeds in mountain rainforest canopy.
Adults are green with a purple-blue face and red fore-neck; the feathers of the nape, neck, and mantle have dusty black edges. Juveniles are duller and may have little or no red on the fore-neck.
It feeds on fruit and seeds in the canopy of mountain rainforest, generally at 300–800 m. Pairs or small groups are common, with larger flocks outside breeding season; nests are in tree cavities.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
