The Spot-winged Thrush has two pale bars on its wings and brown spots across its breast and belly. It searches forest floors in Sri Lanka for insects and fallen fruit.
The adult has an olive-brown back and two broad pale bars formed by the tips of the wing coverts. Spaced brown spots run from the white throat across the breast and belly.
It often forages alone in the lower vegetation or on the ground, turning leaf litter and decaying plants to find insects and spiders. It also gleans berries and fruit from shrubs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
