This pocket gopher has a buff-brown back, paler sides and belly, and white feet. Records are from the southwestern Texas and southeastern New Mexico plains, including deep sandy soils.
The back is buff brown, the sides and underside are somewhat paler, and the feet are white. It is described as slightly smaller than the plains pocket gopher, but careful genetic study is needed to distinguish them.
Pregnant females were recorded in January, March, and July in three Texas counties. Seven pregnancies averaged 2.1 fetuses, with a range of one to three.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
