  • False Fraser's Clawed Frog Xenopus allofraseri

In females, the rostral tip is rounded in dorsal view. In females, the eyes project just beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and above the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In females, the prominent subocular tentacle is longer than half the eye diameter and extends nearly to the upper lip. On Bioko Island and along the Atlantic coastal regions of Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo, it occurs in both forested and disturbed areas. It has been confirmed on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea, and in the Atlantic coastal regions of Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

  • Bamiléké Clawed Frog Xenopus eysoole

In females, the rostral tip is blunt and rounded in dorsal view. In females, the eyes do not project beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and are flush with the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In females, the subocular tentacle is short, less than half the eye diameter. At Elak Oku village, Cameroon, the type specimens were found in a small pool of about 1 m² and 20 cm depth, several metres from a fast-flowing stream through cultivated land. It is known from about 1400–2000 m elevation in the Bamenda-Banso Highlands of the northern Bamiléké Plateau, Cameroon.

  • Fischberg's Clawed Frog Xenopus fischbergi

In females, the rostral tip is rounded in dorsal view. In females, the eyes project beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and above the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In females, the prominent subocular tentacle is about half the eye diameter and extends halfway to the upper lip. On 17 March 1979, twenty juveniles were collected from a water hole at Kologu village, Ghana. Wild collecting records include Kologu village and Bui National Park in Ghana and Djingliya in the Extreme North Region of Cameroon.

  • Kobel's Clawed Frog Xenopus kobeli

In females, the rostral tip is rounded in dorsal view. In females, the eyes project just beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and above the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In females, the subocular tentacle is moderately long, slightly over half the eye diameter, and extends halfway to the upper lip. In Cameroon, some populations occur in standing water on the southern Bamiléké Plateau at 1100–1500 m, while others occur in similar habitats at about 380 m in central or southeastern Cameroon. There are records from the southern Bamiléké Plateau and central and southeastern Cameroon.

  • Cameroon Clawed Frog Xenopus mellotropicalis

In males, the rostral tip is blunt and rounded in dorsal view. In males, the eyes do not project beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and project slightly above the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In males, the subocular tentacle is short, less than half the eye diameter. In Central Africa, it has been recorded in both forested and disturbed areas. It has been confirmed in Cameroon, Gabon, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

  • Upland Clawed Frog Xenopus parafraseri

In females, the rostral tip is rounded in dorsal view. In females, the eyes project just beyond the orbital margins in dorsal view and above the dorsal head margin in lateral view. In females, the subocular tentacle is moderately long, slightly over half the eye diameter, and extends halfway to the upper lip. In Cameroon, specimens were collected from pools in agricultural plots and forests; in the Republic of Congo, they were found in swampy areas of pristine primary rainforest. It has been recorded in southern Cameroon, central and eastern Gabon, and the northwestern Republic of Congo.
