Pharaoh Hound
Temperament
Friendly, Smart, Noble
[3]Background and human relationship
A Maltese rabbit-hunting dog, designated Malta’s national dog in 1979. Its resemblance to ancient Egyptian depictions does not itself establish an unbroken pedigree from those dogs.
[1]Build and coat
A medium dog with a clean outline, large erect ears and free light movement combining elegance and strength. It is separate from the similar Ibizan Hound.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Tan to rich tan may have a preferred white tail tip, chest star, white toes or a narrow blaze. These limited markings differ from extensive red-and-white patches in other upright-eared hounds.
