Chestnut

Chestnut is a deep reddish-brown shade, resembling the nut. The AKC glossary gives Irish Setters and Pharaoh Hounds as examples. The Irish Setter standard specifies mahogany or rich chestnut red without black, while allowing a little white on the chest, throat or toes, or a narrow central skull streak, without penalty. Shade and white-marking allowances remain breed-specific.
