Field Spaniel
Temperament
Sweet, Fun-loving, Sensitive
[3]Background and human relationship
A British land-working spaniel whose once-broad name became a distinct breed alongside the Cocker. After a period favouring exaggerated long low bodies, it was restored toward functional field form.
[1]Build and coat
A balanced streamlined gundog built for activity and endurance. Its body and leg outline contrasts with the heavier Clumber Spaniel beneath their different furnishings.
[1]Colour and comparisons
Black, liver and roan may occur with tan markings. JKC permits chest white or roan in self-coloured dogs but excludes white elsewhere on clear black or liver coats.
