Black, White & Red

The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog standard defines a tri-colour pattern with a black topcoat and rich rust and white markings. Rust appears above the eyes, on the cheeks, both sides of the chest, the legs and under the tail; white appears on the face, muzzle, chest, feet and tail tip. The registry's “red” corresponds to the standard's rust markings, not a red base coat.
