Blue Merle White & Tan

The AKC Collie standard describes blue merle as predominantly blue-grey and black marbling, with white markings like those of sable-and-white dogs and usually tan on the head and legs. White commonly appears on the chest, neck, legs, feet and tail tip. The AKC Shetland Sheepdog standard also permits varying amounts of white and/or tan with blue merle. Their amounts and distribution vary within each breed’s standard.
