The Great-billed Heron is a large heron with a massive bill. It lives around coastal rocks and shallow water near mangroves.
It has dusky gray-brown plumage, a long crest, elongated breast plumes, and a large gray bill.
It usually hunts alone, waiting or walking slowly in shallow water for fish and aquatic invertebrates.
In Singapore, it nests in isolated mangrove stands on remote islands.
The bill, legs, and toes are dull grey. In flight, the bird appears grey overall.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
